The Lorax Sells Out

I just saw the Lorax the movie. It was cute and fun and I enjoyed it.  Honestly.  And no one should feel bad about enjoying it.

But does anyone notice how it comes back to the same conclusions we are fed time and time again?  Our greatest defense against the destruction of the planet is to plant a tree and change our consumer choices?

Of course I wasn't expecting a corporate entity, such as Disney, to advocate for necessary radical change.  Why would a major corporation ever promote actions to bring down major corporations?  It wouldn't.  The major solutions we are given by major corporations are packaged in a neat and VERY TIGHTLY BOUND little box.  "These are your choices and we will glorify them as grandly as we can, so that when you make the 'choice' we feed you, you will feel like a hero."
