- the GA employs a consensus-based process so that every single person in attendence has an equal vote, an equal opportunity to speak and opine and equal weight in the decision-making process / influence of the group decision.
- this GA had over 100 people in attendence. Although some friendships and acquaintances have formed along the way, the majority of the people are, or at some point were, strangers to each other.
- It is a very controversial and aversive topic being discussed, but the group is addressing this hard issue peacefully, respectfully and responsibly. They are weighing the pros and cons and taking everyone's stance into account.
Next time you organize a crowd of 100+ strangers over highly controversial topics in an open space, where every single person has the right to voice their opinion to the masses (and will certainly practice that right since they are highly passionate about it), please let me know how it goes. Also, make it a completely transparent process so that you may experience a two-way mirror phenomenon. Oh and good luck.
