Worcester Energy Barnraisers

UPDATE:  The Worcester Barnraisers will be working with The Woo/Pilgrim Church this whole month.
Fridays from 5-9pm (there are are two locations, so call the contact person for details if you're interested).

Last month, I went to an extremely helpful free weatherization workshop in Worcester, MA!  In a do-it-yourself fashion, the volunteers of the Worcester Energy Barnraisers (WEB) taught me how to build energy-conservative storm windows from scratch.  It's a cheap and highly effective way to lower your heating costs while having a warmer home, save energy and join the sustainable community movement.

All the members of the Worcester Barnraisers are very friendly and there is no pressure to arrive with even a modicum of knowledge or experience (although professionals in carpentry, engineering, construction or other skilled craftsmanships are always needed and helpful!).  I can certainly vouch for the lack of experience, since I arrived at the workshop having only used the hair-dryer window insulation kits in the past and having only used a power drill once before in my life! Eeek!

More workshops are planned for this month, including a workshop tomorrow, Friday, January 7th, at the Woo church in Worcester.  Details and a link for the website are below:
